Arista Warns of Critical VeloCloud SQL Injection Zero-Day Exploited in Attacks

Attackers are exploiting a zero-day SQL injection flaw in Arista's VeloCloud Orchestrator (VCO), the central management system for VeloCloud SD-WAN networks, the company said in an advisory on October 22. The flaw lets anyone who can log in to the orchestrator, even with a read-only customer account, gain operator privileges, the top level of control over it. For

Researchers Demonstrate Node2Shell RCE Exploit on Node.js Build Using Crafted Brotli Data

A buffer overflow vulnerability in the Brotli decoder (c/dec/decode.c) in Google Brotli versions 1.0.3 through 1.2.0 on all platforms allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to corrupt adjacent decoder state memory, disclose sensitive memory contents, cause a denial of service, or potentially execute arbitrary code using a crafted Brotli-compressed stream. Users need to update any Brotli libraries or binaries between 1.0.3 through 1.2.0 to the latest available version: 1.0.10 or 1.1.1 or 1.2.1.

Critical Flaw in Python’s Popular Pillow Image Library Allows Code Execution via a Crafted Image

```python infile_temp = None if hasattr(fp, "name") and os.path.exists(fp.name): infile = fp.name # user-controlled path used as-is, without validation else: in_fd, infile_temp = tempfile.mkstemp() os.close(in_fd) infile = infile_temp # ... (copy fp into a temporary file) When rendering an EPS image, PIL.EpsImagePlugin.Ghostscript() constructs the Ghostscript command line using the input file path (fp.name) and places it directly at the -f position of the argument list. This path is user-controllable, yet Pillow performs no validation or neutralization of tokens that Ghostscript treats specially during command-line argument parsing — in particular a leading - or -- (which Ghostscript interprets as an option rather than a filename) and a leading @ (Ghostscript's argument-file syntax, which causes it to read additional command-line arguments from the named file). Because the filename is neither normalized (e.g., forced to an absolute path or prefixed with ./) nor checked against these prefixes before being handed to the subprocess, an attacker who controls the filename passed to Image.open() can inject arbitrary Ghostscript command-line arguments. This is a classic argument-injection flaw (CWE-88), and it is not mitigated by Pillow's default -dSAFER setting.
Wasmtime: Bit-packing in Cranelift compiler causes silent overflow and miscompilation
In Wasmtime prior to v43, the Cranelift compiler backend bit-packs its SSA value indices in a way that can result in silent overflow in release builds, and result in incorrect value references in the IR resulting in arbitrary miscompilation. A very large Wasm function body, or one that is specially crafted to use many SSA values, can use this to force type-confusion or other arbitrary side-effects and escape the sandbox. Cranelift was changed in Wasmtime v43 to use a full `u32` index, with checks if that limit is exceeded, and so is no longer susceptible to this bug.
VulnerabilityCVE-2026-112398
Pillow: Heap buffer overflow in FlashPix (FPX) JPEG decoding leads to code execution
**Researcher**: Alex Bouffard (mixbo@pebwalker.com) A heap buffer overflow in Pillow's FlashPix (FPX) JPEG-tile decoder lets an attacker achieve arbitrary code execution by getting an application to open a single crafted file with `Image.open()`. The file is recognized by content (the OLE2 magic), not by extension, so any service that opens or thumbnails untrusted uploads with the optional `olefile` dependency installed is reachable with no user interaction. In the PoC below, opening one crafted file executes an attacker-chosen command on stock Pillow 12.2.0 (x86_64 Ubuntu 24.04, glibc 2.39).
Laravel TokenGuard authentication bypass through non-string API credentials
Laravel's built-in TokenGuard, **when configured with a standard token-based API guard**, may be bypassed to authenticate as an arbitrary existing user without knowledge of their valid API token. **Under certain database configurations (MySQL/MariaDB)** an attacker can submit a specially crafted, non-string credential value that is mishandled during the authentication lookup, causing the underlying query to match an unintended user record rather than failing authentication as expected.
VulnerabilityCVE-2026-96639
Pillow multi-frame loaders can reuse stale native image storage after mode transitions
If frame 0 allocates storage for a narrow mode such as `L`, and a later frame of the same dimensions switches to a wider mode such as `RGB` or `CMYK`, Pillow may decode wider pixels into the stale narrow native buffer. This causes native out-of-bounds writes and process crashes. In the MPO/JPEG path, I also demonstrated command execution in matching Python/Pillow runtime profiles through Pillow's documented `ImageSequence.Iterator` + `frame.load()` path. Several multi-frame `seek()` / `_open()` paths can update `self._mode` and decoder tiles for a later frame without invalidating `_im`. The decoder then writes or reads according to the new frame mode while the native storage still belongs to the old frame mode.
VulnerabilityCVE-2026-114139
Sentry-Javascript: Middleware Bypass when using Tunnel route
The `tunnelRoute` option makes the SDK send browser events to a path on your own Next.js server (for example `/monitoring`), where a rewrite forwards them to Sentry to prevent ad blockers from blocking them. To keep those envelope requests from being rejected by your middleware, the SDK skips middleware for them. The middleware skip was wider than the rewrite. The rewrite only serves requests to the tunnel path itself with the `o` and `p` parameters set. The skip applied to anything under the tunnel path. Requests in that gap go to your application instead of Sentry, and your middleware never runs on them.
mem0ai Databricks vector store vulnerable to SQL injection
mem0 0.1.117 before 1.0.8 contains an sql injection vulnerability in mem0/vector_stores/databricks.py that allows attackers to inject SQL by influencing stored memory content. Attackers can supply crafted memory text, metadata, or message names that reach unescaped insert() and update() string interpolation to execute injected SQL on the configured Databricks SQL warehouse.
Pillow: Heap buffer overflow in _tiffWriteProc when saving TIFF to BytesIO
``` ============================================================================ Heap buffer overflow in _tiffWriteProc when saving TIFF to BytesIO Location: src/libImaging/TiffDecode.c:94 in _tiffWriteProc() Commit: a707c6b21c313880d0771e54965d142dd42358b6 ============================================================================ ``` Pillow can write attacker-chosen data past the end of a heap buffer when it saves a TIFF image to an in-memory destination such as `io.BytesIO` rather than to a file. The same code also copies leftover heap memory from the process into the saved file. Anyone who can supply an image to a service that opens it and re-saves it as TIFF this way can trigger this with default settings. The attached reproducer crashes the process, and the overflow could potentially be developed further, but code execution is not demonstrated here.
