What happened

Syncplify Server! before 8.8.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows attackers with a symbolic link placed inside a user's home folder to access files outside the virtual filesystem root because confinement is enforced only against the requested path and not the on-disk destination of the link.

Attackers can leverage a symlink or, on Windows, a directory junction that points outside the jail to read or access restricted files beyond the intended home-folder boundary.

About this data

This record was ingested from a data source. Retrieved: Oct 26, 2026, 18:20 UTC. Ingestion is not an independent editorial investigation.

NVD status: Deferred. Publication in the NVD is not evidence of exploitation.

A CISA KEV listing documents known exploitation, not necessarily a zero-day; absence from the catalog does not prove a vulnerability has never been exploited.

Technology tags indicate possible relevance, not verified exposure. Confirm the affected product, version, and configuration against your own inventory; KEVWire does not scan your systems.

A personal reading checklist on this device, not verified remediation.
