What happened

OpenEMR is a free and open source electronic health records and medical practice management application. Prior to 8.3.0, interface/modules/custom_modules/oe-module-dorn/public/compendium_install.php checks authentication and CSRF but does not require the admin/users ACL enforced by sibling DORN administration scripts.

When the DORN module is enabled, a low-privilege authenticated user can supply a labGuid that causes LabCompendiumInstall::uninstall() to delete detail and result procedure types and deactivate order types before the reinstall step. The action can corrupt lab-ordering configuration and require an administrator to restore the compendium. This issue is fixed in version 8.3.0.

About this data

This record was ingested from a data source. Retrieved: Nov 5, 2026, 21:50 UTC. Ingestion is not an independent editorial investigation.

NVD status: Received. Publication in the NVD is not evidence of exploitation.

A CISA KEV listing documents known exploitation, not necessarily a zero-day; absence from the catalog does not prove a vulnerability has never been exploited.

Technology tags indicate possible relevance, not verified exposure. Confirm the affected product, version, and configuration against your own inventory; KEVWire does not scan your systems.

A personal reading checklist on this device, not verified remediation.
