What happened

The FunnelKit Automations – Email Marketing Automation and CRM for WordPress & WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the 'bwfan_cart_id' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.8.5.2 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query.

This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.

Exploitation is a two-step persisted attack: an unauthenticated attacker submits a crafted bwfan_cart_id value during a guest Store API checkout (requiring only a publicly obtainable WooCommerce cart nonce), and the injection fires when a scheduled Action Scheduler job later reloads the stored meta upon order status transition out of pending, failed, or cancelled.

NVD status: Received. Publication in the NVD is not evidence of exploitation.

A CISA KEV listing documents known exploitation, not necessarily a zero-day; absence from the catalog does not prove a vulnerability has never been exploited.

Technology tags indicate possible relevance, not verified exposure. Confirm the affected product, version, and configuration against your own inventory; KEVWire does not scan your systems.
