What happened

The WP Event Manager WordPress plugin before 3.4.2 does not properly validate ownership or the type of the user-supplied post identifiers processed by one of its frontend forms, allowing any user with a Subscriber account or above to reassign the authorship of arbitrary posts to themselves and to force them to be published.

This results in content takeover and in the public disclosure of otherwise private or draft content, and requires the relevant frontend feature to be enabled.

This record was ingested from a data source. Retrieved: Nov 6, 2026, 14:21 UTC. Ingestion is not an independent editorial investigation.

NVD status: Deferred. Publication in the NVD is not evidence of exploitation.

A CISA KEV listing documents known exploitation, not necessarily a zero-day; absence from the catalog does not prove a vulnerability has never been exploited.

Technology tags indicate possible relevance, not verified exposure. Confirm the affected product, version, and configuration against your own inventory; KEVWire does not scan your systems.
